Said from royal bank, however, minutes earlier i was called 4x in a row by 1-888-826-2489 which is supposedly a vancity bank number. When I answered the "royal bank" guy who had sort of a french accent, he said something about suspicious credit card activity. I have noticed no credit card oddities. He also was looking for someone else. When i asked him for the address he had, he gave it to me...no real bank would ever do that. When i suggested he was a fraudster, he hung up on me. Total scam, spoofing bank phone numbers.

They said that they were calling on behalf of Royal Bank to offer me this new service where they can help raise my credit score and keep track of who is checking my credit and also send me a detailed credit report for 17.99. She seemed too persistant for me and she had some of my information. Then when she asked me for my birthdate I told her I wasn't interested and then she really try to push what a great service this would be to me and continued to try to get me to do it while I kept saying that I wasn't interested.

I called RBC and they say it could have been a real service being offered by RBC because sometimes they use the services of outside call centres to do calling for them. So I was like you don't even know what specials are benig offered to me and can't even verify if someone called me on your behalf? And then the lady said to me that she is not going to log it unless she gets more phone calls about this. So what she said is since they have your current address I should most likely trust it. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight!
