Got 2 calls from 800-772-1213 claiming to be social security office and when you press 1. He asked me what info did they need. Once I told him the SS wouldn't be calling. They hung up

Just received a recording from the SSA claiming that I had some fraudulent activity with my account. I was to press #1 and speak to an agent. Being in law enforcement (now retired) I know for a fact that SSA does not call you to report illegal activity to you, nor would they appear on your door step. Phishing is becoming epidemic and seniors are more susceptible to being duped from nefarious operators than others. Please do not become a victim by complying with their demands for personal information.

Freaky, I just hung up from authorizing the bank to put a pymt through and this number rang me. I didn’t answer it. How do they get your information instantly!?

I got a robo call; advised my social security number was connected with fraudulent activity and it will be suspended. I was given the option of pressing "1" to speak with an agent. The number on caller ID is the real SSA phone number, but I'm sure the recording was a phishing expedition.

Robo voicemail claiming to be from the SSA. It says, "In order to connect with a SS administration officer, press 1 now. In case we don't hear from you, your social will be blocked permanently. To connect now press 1 and you will automatically be connected with the concerned department's official.

This is the correct number for the Social Security Administration. Blocking it will block legitimate SSA calls as I just experienced. Waited a long time to get a call-back from the SSA and when it came it was blocked.

This is the real Social Security phone number. Blocking it is a BIG MISTAKE. The community block list is wrong. That number should be removed from the list.

Tried to call this number for help with my SS and got deluged with advertisements about medical alert bracelets and vacations. I think this maybe a fake number.

I really don't know what type of call this is so I'm guessing it's telemarketing. Even though the commoners state that they are indeed from the Social Security Administration and that they are only returning calls. However I never made a call and they are calling me constantly. Knowing a government agency if they can't get a hold of you after 1 time they are not going to call you back. Also one of the commoners identified themselves as 'insulin cats' now what government agent is going to use that name to identify themselves. That's why I think it's either a telemarketing agency or it could be a collection agency I don't know. Even though they left the number to the Social Security admin I still think it's a scam. so take note, stop calling nobody's going to call you back!!
