called st Jude and they stated they never call anyone for donations. Gave them this number for investigation

I received a call at about 5:10 p.m. on Jan. 16 from this number. The caller claimed to be working for St. Jude's and she said that they could not process my credit card contribution. She gave me a wrong expiration date for my card ending in XXXX, and I corrected her. Then she asked me to read the entire card number back to her. I refused and she said they would send me something in the mail to make the corrections. Eleven days later, I have still not received anything in the mail. I called my credit card company to alert them.

I have received numerous calls from this number on both my home phone and my cell phone. They never leave a message, and when I answer they almost always hang up immediately.

The one time they did not hang up I heard two (or more) people having a discussion in the background but could not hear what they were saying. After a minute, I finally yelled into the phone "Is anyone there? HELLO?" and the phone call was terminated abruptly.

This is for St. Jude's Children's Hospital and is a legitimate number.
