Got a call yesterday indicating there was a lot of suspicious activity related to my Apple ID. The caller indicated that I could go to a computer and he could show me what he was able to see. The first issue that was questionable was that I had to go to the internet via Chrome or Safari and not any browser of my choice. I went ahead and went to the website the caller indicated via Chrome and was asked to enter my name and he would give me a code to enter. What was suspicious was the box for my name was labeled as "Name" as opposed to "First Name" or "Last Name". I entered a fake name and the code he gave me and when clicking on the button to proceed a file was trying to be downloaded. Again this was suspicious because I found it strange that I'd need to download a file for me to be able to see what the caller wanted me to see. At this point I asked the caller what my Apple ID was. He hung up! End!
Received a phone call from this phone number today claiming my Apple account had been compromised. I told them I had made a couple of app purchases today but that was all. They asked me for my Apple ID email that I used. They got that info from me but that was all because I began to get a little suspicious as to why they called me, it just seemed a little odd so I said I would have to call them back. The man made sure I got his phone number 408-462-7560 and said his name was Gary Hall. I phoned Apple directly and customer service said that this was a scam and that Apple never makes phone calls to the Apple customers.
