Letter. I called them. Decided to investigate & found this. Figured it was a scam.
Deceptive, in that they aren't exactly paying off anything. And, they are not "associated" with your bank, nor the US Gov --- however, what they are, and what they do, is to offer "reverse mortgages", These work by buying an insurance policy on you, and then paying you X amount for life. IF you have a mortgage, that would have to be paid off before anything was done, by them. Great deal?? Likely not. But, that's what they are, and how you can have any option you want -- REVERSE MORTGAGES -- look up companies that provide this. Do your research. Read what Clark Howard and others say.
Still phishing for vulnerable 'customers' to fleece, Feb 2024. Shredded that letter. SCAMMER
No addŕess, no email...just a phone number. My loan was sold to a different bank years ago. The bbb states its a reverse mortgage. Deceptive advertising.

They're still up to their old tricks as of Oct. 14, 2023. Received a deceptive letter (no address) with just a phone number for the Senior Lending Assessment Center and a note that "your Chase Manhattan Bank Usa National Assn mortgage may qualify to be paid off ... ." I don't have a Chase Mortgage. What a scam.

They are still up to their deceptive tricks. Today we received a letter that stated our mortgage with Chase Manhattan Bank may "qualify to be paid off ... ." We don't have a mortgage with Chase. What a scam. Also, no address just a phone number 800-822-1190. I would NOT respond to this solicitation.

I DONT HAVE A MORTGAGE ! they named Principal Residential mortgage as the lender ! they did hold the mortgage on my house but about a year in they merged with Citi ! that was over 23 years ago! where they are getting there info from? and why dont they say who they are?
