I was scammed from this number trying to purchase AppleCare+ instructed to purchase iTunes card and receive a rebate. After giving card number never got coverage and when I tried to call back number disconnected. Lost $450
Please do not fall for it like I did. I was so hurt. I cried and cried. But you live and learn.
Thanks so much for telling your story they are harrasing and conviencing
Just got a call from "Microsoft Tech Support". When I asked for a call back number, he eventually gave me 800-837-0742. It took several attempts to confirm the number as he spoke with a very thick east European accent. After getting the number, I asked for an extension. He said just call this main number. He started getting pretty upset (haha!). When I asked for an operator ID, he told me i didn't need one. After explaining I normally am able to ask for the Operator ID, he hung up on me. (How rude!) This is definitely a scam. They'll download virus software (at a minimum) and most likely mine data from your PC or lock it up requiring a fee for them to "fix" the computer.
I got the same call today Feb 9, 2017. It's amazing that they are still in business. They asked me to type in from a RUN Cmd window www.fastsupport.com/515423 which opened a browser window to their site for remote access sesstion. I asked them why am I giving you remote access to my computer and told them that I had no way of verifying that he was from Microsoft Technical Support. He then ask me to run the CMD window & type in ASSOC which gave me a bunch of stuff to which he said my Windows license is blah blah blah on a CLSID entry. I told him that was not my Windows License activation code as he stated.
And told him that was no proof that he was from Microsoft. I asked for any docs he could email me that could detail out what problem had and how to fix it. He said no he couldn't and gave me the 800-837-0742 and his name was Gary Donald with an Indian accent. Now I'll forward this to the FBI Tip Line and see what they can do with these scam con guys.

For more details of the Scam-Fake Microsoft Tech Support.
Very funny on how some of these smarter techies who got the scam attempt. I held them on the line for 19 mins. and they gave me a phone number to call them back on.

Phone call was from a different number. They said they were contacting me because of computer problems. I had just reset my computer to factory settings. They have a great pitch and they even showed me with remote assistance. (Don't fall for the remote like I did!) After the whole spill they were selling internet protection for $199 and up. When I asked what the company was I was told it was JST IT. Then he gave me a verification number. 1-800-837-0742. I couldn't find anything on them online on a different computer while I was talking to him so I said I was not interested today. He opened a window and typed in a password real quick. When I asked him what he was doing he said he was disconnecting from their secure server. I called him on it and he hung up. When I restarted my computer it said it is password protected for startup. I called the number and got help and support and the guy I talked to told me that could never happen and hung up on me. When I called back it goes to voicemail. Don't fall for what I did. Now I have a computer that I will have to pay to get unlocked, if it's possible. Heavy Indian accents know what their doing to get your money or damage your computer.
