I keep getting these calls to lower my interest rate on my credit cards. I've told them NOT to call and they just hang up on you as soon as you say anything negative - but I keep getting these calls. Today I was able to get a phone number "in case we got disconnected". He was extremely reluctant to do so. When I said "You are in violation of the 'Do Not Call Registry", he hung up on me. I would really like to get these calls to stop. Oh, the actual number he gave was 800-VISA 911. He said he covered all Visa cards and that he was in Orlando

Got called from this number. Called number back and asked to be removed from call list. She hung up on me. Called again, when through voice prompts, got a real VISA operator at Lost Card Services, got the name and ID# (Dominic -- Op ID # 857049). I called again, asked for supervisor, confirmed Dominic and his ID#. Supervisor Kim told me that this is an ongoing problem and she suggested I call my bank to have the put a hold on my card, then call the police to fill out a report on the fraudulent call.

Unfortunately, 800-847-2911 is actually a toll free number for Visa. The real company that calls you is a fraud and is able to scam the Caller ID (Yes, it's legal!!!). NEVER give out any information to a cold caller. I'm not sure if it really helps to report it to the FCC or the Do-Not-Call list. I've done it for years now and it doesn't seem to help. Save your time and your frustration and just hang up and let it go.
