I did not answer the call but allowed it to go to voicemail. The caller ID said Wells Fargo, (800) 869-3557. A man, who did not give his name, said he was calling from Wells Fargo's fraud department because $4,000 had been drawn from my account and Wells Fargo thought it looked suspicious. I was asked to press "1" or "2" in order to speak to someone. I DON'T HAVE A WELLS FARGO ACCOUNT. The same thing happened a few months ago. After each call, I added the number to my blocked caller list. I'd also reported the first call to the FCC/FTC but that takes more time than it really should.
I got called at 11:55am EDT saying it was Wells Fargo fraud dept and that my acct was debited $4000. Obviously a scam so i hung up.
I got the same call today, July 22. $4,000 fraud, press 1.
Yes, scam call. Hang up and do not give them any info.
Recorded voice said it was Wells Fargo Fraud Dept and they had noticed suspicious activity of $4000 on my account. Pressed 1 and when he came on the line he said he was Wells Fargo Fraud Dept and how could they help me. I said I don't know you called me and then line went dead. Clearly fraudulent, phishing for information.
