Recorded voice said it was Wells Fargo Fraud Dept and they had noticed suspicious activity of $4000 on my account. Pressed 1 and when he came on the line he said he was Wells Fargo Fraud Dept and how could they help me. I said I don't know you called me and then line went dead. Clearly fraudulent, phishing for information.

The above email was sent 5-27-22 saying the account is locked, firewall caught it and ran the number and it brought me here.

Phishing attempt. Looking for personal information.

Identified himself as from the Wells Fargo fraud dept. This person said there was suspicious activity on my credit card and that he wanted to verify previous activities. This person had a heavy Indian accent and sounded just like the person who scammed us in the fall of 2021.
I replied that I felt very uncomfortable with this call and that I'd be hanging up and calling Wells Fargo directly.

800-869-3557 Showed up on my Credit Report I had opened an account on 3/20/2022. I don't use Wells Fargo for banking. ..So I called the number and gave them my ssn and the agent stated the accounts weren't in my name or address and transferred to buy fraud alert program....I already have fraud alert on my Experian account, which is how I know that someone was trying to open an account and their number. So they are getting into our Credit files at least at Experian.

My caller ID showed it was a call from Wells Fargo but I decided not to pick up the call. I then listened to the recorded message which I only heard the tail end asking if I made a certain transaction. I checked my account and it was fine.

This is a scam call from a guy named Tyler and he is using Wells Fargo fraud department phone number and they are from Wells Fargo fraud department saying there has been a zelle payment trying to go through for a big amount and then they was trying to get me to send money to myself witch was a red flag and I ended the call the next morning I talked to a Wells Fargo branch where I live and they did not see any abnormal activity on my account and said it was most likely fraud and then that afternoon the same number called me again and I told the Tyler that I already talked Wells Fargo that day and they said there was nothing on my account then Tyler used profanity language and then hung up so if you get a call from this number do not give any information to them and if you got a wells fargo account go and talk face to face with a person from the your local branch.

Definitely a phishing scam. Received a call from this number last night and the caller claimed to be calling from Truist. Said I 2 potentially fraudulent charges on my card. I said well that's funny I don't see these charges in my account. Caller was trying to gain my user ID so they could reset my password and transfer money out of my account. I hung up and called Truist directly and they confirmed there are no fraudulent charges and that this was indeed a phishing scam.

This in fact was Ken from the Fraud Detection Dept at Wells Fargo calling to tell me that my card was used for a $1400 purchase which I in fact did not make. Someone had stolen my card number and was making online purchases with it. The call was totally legit.

Called me, and said he was from the fraud detection dept. at Wells Fargo. I knew it was a scam, so just hung up immediately. This was Tuesday morning April 6. These scum bags will take any opportunity to rip people off.

The usual lower my credit card rate, press 1 to speak with a live representative. Thought I would have some fun (give phony c.c. #'s and ID info) so I pressed 1. It immediately disconnected.
Usually, If I have the time, I will try to keep them on the phone as long as possible. My record is 11 minutes (tough to beat). They will probably call back, so I will get another chance.

Got a call stating 100% debt forgiveness due to COVID wants me to press 1 and give them all of my information.

Of course, it is a scam. Wells Fargo is too dumb to invest in technology to prevent spoofing when they are worried their dimwit, nitwit, morons, nincompoop, stupid CEO's don't receive their high price bonuses !!!!!!!!!!!! CID does show Wells Fargo but we don't have an acct and have never done business with the stupid company. Call hung up after the 1st ring which is spammer's MO. But then stupidity seems to have become the badge of honor these days !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caller ID said Wells Fargo so I picked up. A live person on the other end said "this is Wells Fargo. Do to the current situation, we are offering all of our customers complete debt forgiveness. Please press 1 to have all your debt forgiven." Riiiiiiiight. I hung up. As if.
