Wife called 800-935-0718 when google directed her to that number for ipad help. Agent at this center of lies directed her to connect ipad to computer. Agent installed two Trojan virus on the PC. Agent also installed a program to auto launch remote help connections, note this program is not trapped by virus checkers. You'll need to remove instances of lmi_rescue in the folders and registry to clear this. Agent also tried to collect $99 while searching email, dos windows and event viewer.
Identified himself as Healthtech 24/7 wanted me to get in front of my computer was upset that he had tried to reach me several times and I did not answer my phone. This is a scam they are calling from a new number now the new one that came up today is 422-835-6747.
Cleaning computer virus off my home computer
Computer repair / removal of malicious software
The caller told me that I had Microsoft windows and wanted to fix my computer. He represented himself as HealthTech 24/7. He was from India by his voice. He wanted me to turn on my computer and he'd take me through the virus elim. process step-by step. I asked how he knew I might have Microsoft windows and he couldn't answer. He admitted that his org. doesn't consult the Do NOT CALL List. He gave me a tool free # 1-800-935-0714. Also, he said he was calling from LV, NV. No company with that name, as far as I can tell, is based in LV, NV. I asked his name and he couldn't pronouce it - Anthony Stewart. I called the toll free number and talked with- Max. Max also had a very difficult time saying Max. The closest company I could find in LV is called Techies 24/7 and legit. They are not in any way associated with Health Tech 24-7. My conclusion- This is a scam to let these people into your computer-where they might do identity theft. Bank accts, CCard #'s and other things are there. BAD!
