Received call from Indian sounding tech from Yahoo security, knew my email address, asked me to verify, which I did (Oops, I know) then asked me to go to my desktop or laptop computer. I said no way, not over incoming call, he gave me 800-935-0817 x114 and said if I called back he would connect me to Yahoo security support who could walk me through blocking IP addresses in Florida from using my account, and that to cancel this account and start a new one would be too easy for them to get at me again.
Call from Brad Brown 1-800-935-0817 said my AOL account had been hacked and wanted me to get in front of my computer and he would walk me through everything, I changed my password as soon as I hung up and blocked his number, cell phones users there is a app called Mr Number that will block those kind of calls I have reported him to AOL.
Brad Brown said he was with Yahoo and that they were receiving complaints that I was sending e-mail with viruses, but could help me fix the problem for me to logon to my computer and he would walk me through it. It didn't feel right I told him I'm not at my computer he said I'm call you back in an hour, I asked him how do I know you are who you say you are he then gave me a number 800-935-0817 ex-113 he said I'll call you back this is very important someone is using your e-mail in china so don't do any online banking until I help you fix the problem. he did call back an hour later and I told him I had called yahoo and they could not verify they had a Brad Brown he said no no you wrong I do work for Yahoo I don't know who you talked to, I told him thank you but I got this
Indian-accented man called, saying he was from my "Internet provider," looking for my wife. Said his name was Chris Hopper and wanted to know when, exactly, she would be back. He recited her internet address but didn't know it was a Time Warner address. Gave me 800-935-0817, extension 112, for her to call back. I'll warn her about what these other commenters have said.
