Robocalls: What are Government Scams?

A call made by someone who is posing to be a government agency in order to obtain sensitive and private information from the receiver is called a "government scam". This call consists of someone saying the call receiver is in trouble with a government agency so they must give their social security or bank account information. A very common government scam is where the caller poses as an employee of the IRS, and they claim the person receiving the call committed tax fraud and is wanted by the police. The callers can be very convincing, as they will have your full legal name and even your address. However, they are not to be trusted. Other common calls are from people posing as a police officer or sheriff, claiming there is a warrant for your arrest. Others could be pretending to be from the Social Security Administration or the FBI. If you ever receive one of these calls, it is best to just hang up, and never give them any of your information. If you are worried it truly was the government agency, simply hang up and call their legitimate number to confirm it was not them trying to get ahold of you. Keep in mind, no government agency will request your social security number or banking information over the phone if you truly are under investigation.

No name, just 800 number; leaves voice message:: " press 2 if you want to continue and 9 to prevent system from ever calling again." I've pressed 9 during the first message to no avail. I received first call at 5 45 p.m. yesterday and two calls this morning at 6:00 a.m. and 6:34 a.m., respectively. Whoever calls at these times must be prerecorded; how do I stop the? My phone is a landline.

this number calls me everyday and it has to stop as my husband has cancer and i always try to fumble for the phone to see who is calling, thinking it could be him. i also don't see small numbers/letters well and it is making my life extremely difficult. so i placed a called to pesg: professional education services group and begged them to take me off this list. the woman at the other end, tanya, said that she could only send an email to this aesop company to try to take me off. anyway, their address is 6307 84th street, caledonia mi, 49316 and the dudes email to contact is: bboone@contractsubs.com. maybe if more than me get a hold of this person and flood him with messages, it might stop. if anything happens to me because of these morons calling me all the time, i'm gonna sue somebody.

Do I want a job.
I have received this message for months, at all hours between 5:..AM to 10PM, in total well over 50 calls. I have punched the number to taken off their list but they keep calling. Because I want to see who is calling, their calling is particualarly dangerous when I am driving...
You have my permission to check my past calling record to see how many times they have called.
