they called and said that the power was going to be shut of and they needed to send somebody to fix something

Claiming he was from water & power if bill was not paid service would be turned off. Scam - speaks in Spanish.

CAREFUL!!! They contacted my elderly aunt that doesn't speak English and told her she needed to have the electric meter replaced and it would cost $300 to do so and that she needed to get a prepaid credit card to pay that money over the phone. This was a male caller.

My mother was called this morning. They threatened to cut off our power if we didn't deposit $300 in some account. My mother does not speak English and was buying into it. I quickly let her know not to believe anything and hang up. They even told her not to contact the DWP about this matter. Ridiculous!

Scam artist, calling people to get money from them. Claiming they are from the water n power company.
