I too was contacted replying to an ad I placed on KSL classifieds as well. He used the same language as the above post. I was leary about this whole thing. I gave him my name and address to send a check because that is public record. He over nighted the check Fed Ex, then I get the text that confirms it is a scam -says he sent me more money for my trouble and wanting me to deposit the check and then send the rest back to him through Western Union. I of course didn't deposit the check or send him any money. I told him I was filing a police report. He never gave me any contact info when I asked for it. The check came from Encino California.
This number texted me, replying to an ad I placed on KSL.com classifieds. The text came through in three separate texts, broken up. The person is asking for the "price of the item" which is clearly displayed in the ad. They also say that "I must confirm my delight in the item".
Just sounds like some phishing going on. I did not reply.
