What is a "Government Scam" Robocall?

Scammers who call people posing as a government agency are commonly referred to as "government scams". There are many different agencies these callers pose as, but they most commonly pose as the IRS. They say you have not paid your taxes and are wanted by the government. These calls can be very convincing, as they will usually have your name and home address, but they will request your social security number and sometimes even your bank information. There are other government agencies these scammers pose as, such as your local police department, the Social Security Administration, and Medicare. When people pose as government agencies, they are violating the law and should be reported immediately. If you are unsure if you are truly talking to a legitimate government agency or not, you can hang up the call, and call the real agency. Let them know you received a call asking for your information, and you want to be sure it wasn’t a scam call. The agency will be able to tell you if you are actually in trouble with them or not.

This is a scam telemarketer using my phont number to dial across the USA. The caller is marketing non-bank loans with higher rates than market...saying the banks are not lending because of COVID-19. The offices of this company are located at 3450 East Airport Drive, Suite 300, Ontario, CA.

Called my cell phone this morning at 0712 hrs. Call went straight to voicemail. Female with a foreign, believed to be latino accent left a voicemail where she simply was asking for me by my first name. My last name's difficult to pronounce properly unless you know me. Nothing more to the message. I ran a reverse lookup on this site and she appears to be spam calling by the comments here. I'll add mine to the pile. My call was received via my voicemail at 0712 hrs. 03/05/20. I recommend you do not answer the call.
