What is a "Government Scam" Robocall?

Scammers who call people posing as a government agency are commonly referred to as "government scams". There are many different agencies these callers pose as, but they most commonly pose as the IRS. They say you have not paid your taxes and are wanted by the government. These calls can be very convincing, as they will usually have your name and home address, but they will request your social security number and sometimes even your bank information. There are other government agencies these scammers pose as, such as your local police department, the Social Security Administration, and Medicare. When people pose as government agencies, they are violating the law and should be reported immediately. If you are unsure if you are truly talking to a legitimate government agency or not, you can hang up the call, and call the real agency. Let them know you received a call asking for your information, and you want to be sure it wasn’t a scam call. The agency will be able to tell you if you are actually in trouble with them or not.

this number has been calling me twice a day and leaves no message. but when other friends call me this number displays as the originator of the call. freaking frustrating.

Received a voicemail on my cellphone from a familiar person - when checking data for the call, it showed it came from this number (805-637-7243). Attempted to dial the number and it just looped back into the voice message again. Had difficulty even deleting the voicemail; and even when I did, dialing the number again the same voicemail message is played - even though I deleted it.

A person from this # left a similiar # on my voicemail and my home phone. It was a crazy message. I have no debt but I have an unlisted home phoen number.

not sure who this is but keeps appearing in my tmobile phone for voicemail which is INCORRECT. spyware found on previous phones, case in progress--we assume this phone does have spyware on as well their time is very near--dam thieves

Today is your lucky day people i placed an order online with this indian guy about a year ago and he keeps emailing me and calling my cell phone but i ran across the invoice were i brought those products online and low and behold the indian's guys HOME NUMBER here is your chance to get that fucker back-1-201-984-3178. So when the 0111805637724X shows up on your phone or this one 198622 up on your caller ID who ya gonna call that indian dude that calls you in the middle of the night trust me people the email and the phone calls and the harassment will stop once you do it to him it worked 4 me good luck people.
