PRA Group. They buy mostly old debts that are stat barred which means the creditor can no longer sue you for the debt and often times the debt can no longer be reported to the credit bureau because it is too old. They take advantage of people's lack of knowledge of their rights using intimidating language such as "you *must* call us about this debt" in their letters. The truth is you do NOT have to call at all. If you call they will try to trick you into acknowledging the old debt and if you do that or even if you make a partial payment, you will RESET the statue of limitations. Best advice is to ignore them and keep blocking their numbers. If you are really are tired of them calling file a complaint against them (you do so in most provinces) and they will take your number off their calling list.
SCAMMERS. BLOCKED

I was sent a letter that came last Friday from debt from 2009, and now they started calling me today from multiple numbers. I am on government disability and barely have enough to live off of already, I am unable to work nor pay a 12 year old debt. Nor have I responded to any calls/emails in that time. Also just moved to where I live now back in May and somehow they found me.
Help called about a $110 debt from 2009. Told then I did not owe it and it would be past Statute of limitations anyway.

If you answer and acknowledge debt the statute of limitations resets and they can go after you. It's best to just continue blocking every number they call from and never answer.
They've had lawsuits against them in the past for unlawful debt collection.
PRA Group tries to collect ancient debts. All of which had long passed the statute of limitation.
They left a 30 seconds message with just the sounds of phones ringing and people talking in the background.
