Scam

Received call where my caller ID showed Hilo, Hawaii. I picked up as I have a friend who is from Hilo and owns his own sea salt company where I order from him every year. This was not him! A foreign speaking young man told me he was informed that I needed computer assistance; well I went along with him, as I'm sick and tired of liars, thieves, and despicable people preying upon others, and I want to get all the information that I can to report them and stop this type of corruption. Bottom line here: I gave him a false name with my Irish accent (Fiona MacKenzie, visiting my sister for the summer), he went along with it. He then told me that his name was Cyrus and that he was calling from India and not Hawaii (scammer). "Really? How do you do that?" He laughed and said no more, only that he knew I was having computer issues and he was called to help out. He mentioned that he works for a software company (name not given), and for a one-charge of $199.99 he could get me back with a cleaned computer that had a faster Internet. I then said to him, "that sounds great, but how do I pay by credit card?" He said "no, I need your checking account information, as you have to pay by check." (Yeah, how lame I thought, then to steal ones identity along with ones personal bank information, wiping all your monies out.) So I said, "well, I can't do that as I don't have my personal banking information available since I live in Ireland and Sweden. But my sister here does, so can I give you her information, but I'll have to call her first as she's at work." He said, "sure, get her bank account numbers and then I can help you, and I'll call you back." So I informed him that it may take a while as she works for the government in their Forensic DNA Dept. (he gravitated to that, and wanted to know more information about her, which of course, I was her....what a stupid man). He said he would call me later that day which he didn't, but just today 9-21-17 at 11:55, he was calling back, and I didn't answer. I'm just wondering how someone in India can use a telephone number from Hawaii, where it displays on your caller ID, when they're in another country? Why is this being allowed here in the USA? That's underhandedly deceitful, unlawful, bold, and downright corruptible in their scamming attempts. Why can't this be stopped? Why am I and all others constantly having to deal with people that have their own mindsets upon extortion and bringing harm and mayhem to their lives? I'm going to go along with all these evil doers from now in trying to obtain all the necessary information that I can in order to bring them down to be heavily fined and jailed and hopefully imprisonment (just where the "lot" of them need to be). All their personal properties should be confiscated and given to their victims. And that won't even be enough, but at least it's a start in the right direction in exposing these criminals.

said they were calling about my computer. i think not. sounded like a person of foreign origins.
