Reduced interest on credit card

can't answer the following question as I get two or three of these calls per week.

How it works:

http://onthespotblog.com/on-the-spot-blog-stirs-up-rachel-at-cardholder-services/

People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office and also file with:
http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done.

The calls are being made from outside the US however most of the call centers (where you actually talk to someone after pressing 1) are in the US and the companies making the money from the scam are owned by people in the US. They will charge thousands of dollars on your credit card without performing any services.

Many of these calls are coming from Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false) numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC. Keep complaining to the FTC and FCC, and start bugging our politicians to pass laws to make it punishable in criminal court instead of handing out fines that they don't pay. Another course of action is to contact phone companies to find out why they won't block spoofed numbers. With today's technology that should be an easy thing to do, unless they are somehow profiting from the use of their systems.

The criminals behind this operation aren't going to pay attention to you asking to be removed from their list. Their calls cost them nothing and they can make a million of them a day so they have no intention of ever removing someone. When you press a key to talk to them all that is accomplished is to verify that they have a working number.
Unfortunately blowing an air horn or whistle doesn't work either. Their headset have noise dampeners plus they are expecting it. However with that said if it makes you feel better then by all means give it a shot.

Write your Congressmen and Senators. We need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these calls. Follow the money, slap them in prison, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem solved. Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.

Cheaper credit

Happens nearly every day around three. Have asked for agent and told them we are on "Do not call List". We have also repeatedly asked to be removed from their lists.

Unless I keep a log Q5 is too difficult to answer as it is basically daily

They claim this is "Rachel from Cardholder Services" and they have a limited time offer to lower credit card interest rates. They ask you to press 1 to speak to a rep, press 3 to discontinue these calls. I get these calls at least once a week over the last year or so - have pressed 3 numerous times and the calls continue. I have pressed 1 - as I did today - to ask rep to have calls discontinued. Rep does not answer request but just hangs up. I once was able to speak to someone long enough to ask which credit card company they are calling on behalf of - I was told "all of them". Rep them hung up. I called my credit card company (B of A) and they told me they have nothing to do with whoever is calling me. I read online that this number calling me (813-444-5665) is a known scam. Please take whatever action possible to stop these people from calling - it is annoying and intimidating. I feel they should be prosecuted for harassment.

Recorded message is "Rachel from Cardholder Services" with special offer to lower credit card interest rates. Press 1 to speak to rep, press 3 to discontinue these calls. I have been getting these calls at least once a week for many months. Have pressed 3 numerous times but calls continue. I have pressed 1 to speak to rep but when I begin my request for their assistance in ending these calls they just hang up. Once I was able to talk to a woman long enough to ask which credit card company they represent - she said all of them then she hung up. I calls my company (B of A) and they assured me whoever is calling does not represent them. I read online that these calls are a common scam - number calling from caller ID is 813-444-5665

a low cost loan I am guessing...
Company has called more than 6 times. I answered first time, asked how they got my number, told them I was on do not call list and to remove me from their list. Person on other end did not say anything for at least 2 seconds when I first answered...then spoke in accent I could not understand and just kept repeating sales pitch. Let rest of calls for past mo go to vm and no message ever left. Tonight I answered, asked person (again 2 second wait) to spell name and name of company ...Elizabeth Robinson, calling from A Better Rate Loan Center...when I kept asking for the spelling, the person hung up.
Frustrating thing is that each time they call, the id shows letters VO followed by string of numbers and the ph # displayed changes every single time making it impossibly time consuming to block. I am going to list all the numbers I have from July 17 to Aug. 16, 2012. Do not like you to ask them questions...get all confused and keep repeating opening stateme

Always a recording, they identify themselves as "Cardholder Services", but say they are a debt consolidation firm. They have called numerous times from different phone numbers (per caller ID). Other number is listed in #8 below.

All I heard was "credit card services" then I hung up as they call frequently. I don't specifically remember the other times or dates from this caller.
