What is a Government Scam Call?

Robocalls that consist of a caller trying to pose as any type of government agency is referred to as a "government scam" call. During these calls, a person will try to convince you that they are an employee of a government agency and that you owe them money or are wanted for arrest. They make these calls in hopes that their victims will wire them money out of the fear of being arrested. You should know, that no government agency will call you and ask you to wire them money over the phone. The most common form of a government scam is the caller pretending to be an IRS employee, and they will tell you that you must send them money to their bank account in order to not be arrested. Other forms of these calls are people pretending to be a part of the Social Security Administration, the FBI, a local police department, or Medicare. These calls can be very convincing as they will know your name, address, and social security number, but you should not trust them. If you are unsure if you are speaking to a government agency or not, you can call the real agency to confirm that it was not them calling you.

Not a Telemark scam you are are bunch of idiots this is a voice mail box from boost mobile if you have service with them this number is to setup your voice mail box so this is not a scam when I called the number it asks me to enter my 5 digit pin number to get access to my voicemail to see if I miss any calls.

they have called my NEW CELL PHONE six time in the past four days...it's pain management for Medicare...when I call the number back, even though I blocked it, it says it is AT&T voicemail and asks me to put in my mailbox number! OUTRAGEOUS!

MALE VOICE IN MY CELL PHONE VOICE MAIL. INAUDIBLE MESSAGE IN PART STATED SEE YOU SUNDAY, WAS ALL I COULD MANAGE TO UNDERSTAND. TERRIBLE DISTANT CONNECTION. TEXT A MESSAGE BACK THAT WENT THROUGH, BUT WHEN RETURNED THE CALL AT&T AUTOMATIC MESSAGE REPLIED NOT ABLE TO PUT THROUGH DUE TO THE FACT THE NUMBER DOES NOT HAVE A VOICE BOX. DUGH!!!?????? I blocked these debt collecting scammers & they still get thru with threatening calls looking for non-existing people about non existing accounts that are going t/b filed with the Hillsborough County, FL courts. They've been using the same threat for over a year! If it was true, they would've done it already.
