Ms. TR
This is a bogus firm. Received a call last November, 2018, from phone #(814) 351-0205. Someone who stated to be John Alt used a commanding/intimidating tone implying that I would be interfering with the law if I did not cooperate with them. This bogus firm contacted me on the premise that I had supposedly cosigned papers for some kind of loan that a family member had taken. I contacted the family member, who double-checked his credit report. Everything was normal, no outstanding debt of any type. Next step, I blocked the number, yet this bogus firm tried it best by insisting via robotic calls to continue with its scam and leaving intimidating messages about serving papers and taking me to court. I hope this information is helpful to whoever is going through the same harassment.

They called yesterday and were very nice but stated that they were going to be serving me papers within the next 48 hours on my Barclay card. I have never missed a payment on this card and they didn't get the amount owed correct. Guys name was Chris Ryback and that I was supposed to email the documentation to kirklandlewis.associates@gmail.com. I don't think so!

Called about a credit card account from back in 2001. Way out of Statue of Limitations. Like 10 years over the SOL. This is a company that buys up old debt in bulk and tries to threaten to sue you if you don't "Settle Immediately". DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION OR ADMIT TO ANY DEBT! They will try and restart the SOL timeline with that information. GIVE THEM NOTHING. And hang up.

They left messages for both me and my husband threatening to serve papers on the matter. When I called them back, I spoke to ‘Olivia’. She was east to talk to and ‘wanted to help me’. She said that their firm was the ‘go-between’ the creditor and courts. She was going to help me settle a debt to CapitalONE that was outstanding from 2013. I told her I wasn’t going to pay anything until I spoke to my husband and confirmed the account with CapitalONE. When I hung up I received a letter from Marci Caraway at kirklandlewis.associates@gmail.com that had the full account number and the proposed settlement (it should also be noted that the address on the letter is the address to a USPS office in PA). I called CapitalONE and they have no record of the account number associated with my social security number. When I called Olivia back and advised her that I wouldn’t be making any payments as I’ve confirmed with CapitalONE that the account number doesn’t exist under my social, she acted surprised and said she would have to talk to her boss. I even offered to conference in CapitalONE and she declined saying her boss would call them. They called me AGAIN today; I was placed on hold and then transferred to a “Ken Wesselman” which I left a VM. I called them back and said I needed to speak to someone and the lady proceeded to argue with me about it. She told me it was a bit excessive for me to report them to the BBB and local news channels and became very defensive, since ‘they are a legitimate company’. She said that they had already noted the account and turned it over to their fraud department based on my conversations with Olivia on Friday. I asked why I was called again 2 minutes prior to me speaking to her and she said ‘no one called you’. When I told her they did and asked her why she thought I ended up speaking with her and she said it was’ their auto-dialer’. Long story short, I hung up the phone.

I just got a call on this myself for a credit card I settled 6 years ago so I could buy a house. I told him I still have the letter from the previous collection agency and he said to fax it. I said who uses a fax machine these days? I said I would email it and he gave me the email address of kirklandlewis.associates@gmail.com. That made me suspicious since most businesses do not use gmail, yahoo etc. I asked him to tell me last 4 of CC number and he gave me 5410 which was close but my letter shows 5414 and told him he has the wrong number. He was trying to rush me off the phone and said he needed the letter emailed today or I would have to bring it to court. I am not sending a thing to that scammer and if I get a true summons I am going to be pissed!!

Just received a call from Kirkland Lewis & Associates stating I owed $12,000.00 on a Barclay's account of which I have absolutely no memory of ever having. Said I could settle with them for a lot less money if I paid the debt now on the phone and if I waited to go to court I would have to pay the current amount due of $12,000.00. Could not give me the Barclay's credit card account number & said the debt was from 2014. This account has never showed up on any of my previous credit card reports like Credit Karma, Trans Union etc. Bogus!!!! Beware of these people

They called my wife stating she owed $2408 to Capital One which raised a red flag because i have a Capital One Card and always made timely payments and the Fake Firm gave me a credit number of the debt, so i spoke with an account specailist at Capital One and they said this account never existed, ok now im really pissed off and i call them back and confronted them about it then they got hateful and said we will serve your employer and you a summons... ok now im really pissed and i lost it on her told her that she was a caniving evil b***h and told her i will see her in court and she could go f*** herself and she said i was being recorded and i said GOOD then you can tell whoever listens to the recording they can F*** Themselves also!!!!
People in this Country struggling to pay their bills and then you have PARASITES like these people stealing your money. Im a smart person with common sense thankfully, i did my research and stocked myself with this information and I unloaded on them!!!

Yes! Jan. 7. Going after me with all kinds of legal actions for credit card debts unpaid in the past...….Of which! I had settled with the credit card companies in 2011! I told the woman I would send her the proof. I was told I had 24 to 48 hours before I was served. I was caught by surprise and did not go online as I am doing now and spent 24 dollars to send them my paper work within the 48 hours proving this. AND now I am finding out this is a scam!!!!

It's a credit card collection agency trying to use threatening language to intimidate you! Check your state's statute of limitations laws and look up what happens if you acknowledge the debt.

I highly doubt they are legal, they called my brother, didn't identify themselves, strike 1, proceeded to give him information about a debt they claim I owed which was opened when my identity was stolen. Strike 2 proceed to try to talk my brother into paying on said debt strike 3. Claimed it was illegal for a service member to have debt and that I could be kicked out of the military strike 4. Told my brother that they never actually checked to identify if the debt was a legal and accurate debt that they just checked my name and that I used to have a bank account with a specific bank. Strike 5
