I got a call from this number, 815-374-2978, and my app popped up a box identifying this number as SPAM, so I didn't answer and the caller did not leave a message. I returned the call, it rang numerous times then the robo crap set-up they use switched my call to another line which rand busy and then promptly disconnected. This isn't even a person calling you, it's a robo call for outgoing calls only. If someone answers an incoming call to their phone it alerts the system to have a live person pick up. This is why these calls never leave a recording when your call goes to voice mail. I don't know who this number belongs to, but an internet search suggest they're to sell some bogus warranty. Just block their calls and you won't hear back from this number again. Sadly, though, you'll need to continue blocking other numbers that come in. Phone numbers generate onto lists and no specific person or place is out to get you. These number lists get sold to the underhanded crooks, and that's just the way it is. And news flash to you people saying they're are calling your pay-as-you-go-phones. Then just don't answer numbers you do not know. If the call get picked up by your voice mail, there won't ever be any message because the robo-dial system will detect no voice and hang up. So delete the notice of a call and don't pay to open it. If a call is so important the caller should leave a message or call back, and those callers never do. Try to load an app, like truecaller, that can mostly identify a call and/or caller name. Make it easier on yourself. Sadly, it's not illegal to dial a phone number, so if you never talk to the caller, how then, do you know the all is fraud?

Called my husband's cell phone. Left no message. This number has called my cell phone as well. Blocked. FYI, if you're using a Lifeline phone & you don't have the option to block, put your number on the National DO NOT CALL list, verify your number to added & call your Lifeline provider to log a formal complaint. If they call again after these measures are taken, notify your service provider again as well as the DNC Agency. They can be fined, shut down or prosecuted. Your legal rights for repercussion against the company, should be defined by your state laws. God Bless
