Called and tried to sell me Geico insurance (when I asked who they represented they said Geico, State Farm...). Told them I had 7 tickets in last 2 years and I mumbled something when they asked about DUIs. Had time to spare so I reduced their income by going to get my existing policy for 5 minutes. They eventually hung up on me.
On another board someone said they identified the company as Ionex Telecom - they are a telecom company that merged with Birch Telecom in 2003 according to Google.

Calling Ionex #s locally got no reply so I called Birch Telecom Corporate to see if they are associated with this # and if so do they know it's being used for illegal purposes (yes I am on both the state and federal no-call lists)

If they are supplying the service to telemarketers/robocallers they should be pleased to be advised that their service is being used illegally and that their name is being associated with this activity.

I have left VM for Birch asking them to call me. The FCC are slower that USPS so maybe if we can identify the Telecom and get them to take action we can reduce these leeches to insignificance.

A recorded message says "This is a public service announcement to inform you that you are paying too much for your car insurance". I'm on the DNC list, so obviously the money they make is more than any fines that the FTC might hit them with. It's aggravating that we pay for a government office that does nothing for us. Privacy is guaranteed in the Constitution, so if someone has an unlisted number or is on the DNC list, that should be respected.

auto insurance call was to a cell phone where they DO NOT have my permission to dial. They did offer me an opt out, but that is not in compliance with TCPA since it was a cell phone. I attempted 4 calls back to them to explain they were not in compliance but in all four cases they hung up on me.
