The caller gave his name, but when I asked for it again, he said, "I've already told you my name." They said I owed a bill for $282.90 to ATT, but I knew that I had always paid my bills, so I hung up and called ATT direct. ATT said I didn't owe anything (LOL) and gave me a number to call to add the number to the Do Not Call list. I googled the number instead because Do Not Call doesn't work. Someone named "Jean" answered the phone at Sunrise Collection Agency and she knew immediately who I was by having called ID, I would guess.
Company that AT&T has turned over for collections. I left ATT and transferred to other company but ATT continued to bill me.
I appreciated your comment. They are calling me regarding a bill that my son as already paid to another collection agency. I believe this is against the law and guess I need to contact the Attorney General. Just AT&T just throw information out there and see who bites. They can't have two different companies dunning you for the same bill. I can't stand AT&T.

We were able to get a small fraction of that back . . . but now they are dunning us on this.
The called me using a local number (typical), for an old ATT bill I'd forgotten about. They try to get you to verify info, just say "no, I'll deal direct, but thank you so much for your call!"(sarcasm off)
