They call, saying that your windows firewall subscription is due for payment. They want to send you an email if you want to cancel. They want you to download something to take over your computer and plant a virus

called on 12/11/2018 going to take 299.00 out of my checking account if I did not send them money by Friday. This person has called many times wanting me to open my computer for him. I told him he was scam and where to stick it.

Called back number4 on a landline and after greeting the indian guy "Namaste!"... He hanged-up on me!... Rude for someone trying to scam me on my CP!...

This is a scam claiming to be the "Windows Cancellation Department". They want to send you a form that you can use to "cancel" your subscription to the windows firewall (which is free). I assume that form, or a later part of the conversation would be used to gather your personal information and then use that to steal money or your identity.

Phone number leaves message warning of charges unless you call to cancel. Once you call to cancel they promise a refund of $299 but first you need to download supremocontrol which will allow the scammers to gain control of your computer to install ransomware.
