Same deal here. It is always on the news that the IRS WILL NEVER contact someone by phone about a tax claim but people still fall for it. Be aware everyone - there are scumbags all around us.

I just received the same message, "The IRS will be filing a lawsuit" and requested a call back to the number 1-832-275-8211. I returned the call and it rang to a fast busy signal. I'm grateful that others have posted this scam. I'm an intelligent individual, and believed this phone call to be legitimate in nature because in a coincidental manner my CPA underpaid my 2014 Taxes by $19.40 after my divorce and change of filing status from married to head of household. I sent the check for the amount due and the next communication I have received from the IRS was what I thought was a legitimate phone call. There is no doubt that others are likely to be scammed especially if there was any recent dealings with the IRS after the deadline for Personal Tax Returns in October 15, 2015, a sort of fishing scam.

Received voicemail....same as all prior comments. This is IRS...blah blah. I did call the number back just to see who answered. (I KNEW it was a scam)The phone rang back to a fast busy signal.

I recieved the same called Today from a Indian Accent Lady, She want to know why no one ever at my home to recieved the letter from IRS, Mind you i havent lived at that address in over 15yrs. Then she said i owe from 2009 thru 2013, I just said really Lady tell me something is for the State or Federal she couldnt answer she was more stuck on this is the IRS Headquaters.. SMH and hung up..

I live in Wisconsin, and just got the same call. Googled, and found this site. I knew it wasn't true. Who sends a "final notice" before you ever get an initial one? Craziness!!!!

Received the same call from the "IRS" with a recorded voice saying they are filing a lawsuit. I hate terrible people.

I received the same call. I called back and luckily I saw this website before I gave any personal information. I then called the IRS to report this number but unfortunately could not get through (high caller volume)

Received the same automated message and called back. A person with indian accent responded, and introduced himself as Kevin Smith ID1078711 working for the IRS. He started to asking me all kinds of identity confirmational questions - luckily I found this webpage to want me before I gave him any info. I tried calling the IRS to report this number but unfortunatly cannot get through (high caller volume).

The latest Texas IRS Scam number. "The Internal Revenue Service is filing alawsuit against us" - call back at this "Departmental number". Can't anyone shut these idiots down? I know it's crap, but I'm afraid for some Seniors who may think it's real and either call back or worry over nothing.
