Receive call from mike Carlson regarding a debt. I live in California and was wondering why he is calling me from Texas. I received a letter from Brown Law in Houston Texas that is affiliated with Attorney Richard Clark. When I called the office, I only spoke with Mike Carlson, which was strange to me. I ask Mr. Carlson, based on your correspondence received by mail , I would like verification that your company acquired the debt from the creditor. Mr. Carlson replied and told me to contact the prior creditor, by telephone to verify debt was sold to them. In a nutshell, he requested that I set-up payment arrangements with them, without any information to support there claim. I told Mr. Carlson if he will not provide legal documentation to support his claim, then I will not agree to his terms. He claims to represent the Law Office of Brown law PLLC. The information received from them, is addressed from a P.O Box, with very poor grammar and no contact representative name. He will only give you his name over the phone and not in writing. This is very suspious to me. Comments welcomed...
