Number called me and my roommate, neither of us answered. No voice mail was left. Called it back and got a "line out of service" message.

just said 'one missed call at 6:03pm 10/5/10' but i didn't know the number so i checked online and it seems many others have had the same thing happen

Got a missed call on 10/4/10 @5:34 pm. I did not pick as I was driving. no voice mail left by the caller so I called back and got busy tone.

I answered thinking it might be a credit card company calling about recent charges on my card, but all I heard was mass static, and no VM was left

I think we should all give them a piece of our mind. No guarantee this is them, but it seems probable. Call them, email them, report them to the FCC and send them letters explaining that they are ruining their reputation.
