The call came in on a bad connection. The person on the other end claimed I took out a loan in 2011 that was now in default. They said I could take care of it now by phone, or risk having a summons served to me at work. I told them I have no such debt, and to send me documentation by US Mail. They said the previous loan-holder had already done that, so I should refer to that paperwork...
Folks, you must insist they send you new paperwork to prove the validity of the (phony) debt, and not by email or fax... by US MAIL only. They won't. They can't, or it would be a federal offense. MAIL FRAUD.
If they won't MAIL you anything in writing, it's a scam!

Total scam. Jamaican lady said they were collecting for a payday loan from 2012. New the last four of my SSN. They have been calling my family and work. I have never had a payday loan. I told to stop calling and they hung up.

My mother-in-law got two of these calls this week. They don't give a name . They just say they have a claim number and she needs to write down. When I called the number there was no mention of what company this is just they arbitrate lawsuits. Since my mother-in-law isn't involved in any lawsuit the person I talked to hung up on me when I asked what lawsuit.

Jamaican lady, from First Bank, called saying I was going into arbitration for a small loan I took in 2013 with PayDay. First red flag, I've never taken a PayDay loan! Then she said she needed to verify my info & called me by my maiden name, second red flag! She had the last 4 digits of my SSN!! She had my address from 10 years ago. She was very persistent and pushy. When I asked if this was a scam, she became irate. I asked to speak to someone else because she was not calm. A gentleman came on the phone and was very polite, but had difficulty understand English. Final red flag! I gave him my updated email address so he could send me the documentation he had. I'll see if anything comes through.

I just had the same thing! Jamaican lady called said I took a PayDay loan in 2013, with my maiden name. I've been married for almost 8 years. I told them I did not. They had all my information from 10 years ago. She was very pushy and I asked to speak to someone else. It was a calm gentleman who said he would mail me all the information. I told them if I took a loan out, it would show on my credit report. They both refused, but said if I had an issue to report to local county office or credit bureau. I asked, isn't that Trabsunion or Equifax? Then wouldn't it be ok my credit report. Silence.

I have reported this # to FCC and FBI...Lets see what happens

Anyone that has a claim that says your going to court, they would send a letter. THIS IS A SCAM. Report it to the FBI!!

They called my cell again today and left no message. I have reported this # to the FCC. Not sure what they will do about it; but I reported it. Wondering who else I should call and report these people too.

Just got a call from this number and they had my last 4 ssn and my maiden name along with a old job. Said I applied for a payday loan in 2013 and did not pay it back, which I never applied for any loan and told her that. She replied with an attitude about litigations against me and wages being garnished. I told her none of that makes sense and she said good luck in court and hung up. Now they just called my job...this absolutely ridiculous!!!!

Recently received numerous calls for a first name I cannot understand and a very old last name from my ex. I called back with the case number left on voicemail and snotty lady answers "legal dept" and claims I am listed as a relative of "Cindy". I don't have any ex in-laws with that name and that's NOT what the automatic voice says on voicemail. I said stop calling me. I now get more calls.

Got messages from relatives to call 844-261-9166. They called themselves First Recovery. Very curious as to how they got the phone number to my ex. I have been divorced for over 25 years. So I called, and they said I owed $300.00 for a payday loan that was never repaid and that it was refinanced so now I owe $500.00. When I started questioning them as to when, what date she told me they don't have that information, I asked her "why not" her response was that they were looking for it and then hung up on me. I have blocked the number and told my contacted relatives if they call again to tell them your turning their # over to your attorney. It is really scary how people can get a hold of your personal information.

These people have been calling me for months. I finally decided to call back thinking that it may be an outstanding debt that I might have, but they said some of the same things you all were saying. There was a court case against me and they were going to serve me papers. They had the last four of my social, the last four of my bank account, and my previous address. They said the name of the company was Cardinal something. They're saying I took out a $300 PayDay loan, and that I signed a contract and that I breached it because I didn't pay it back in 2013? I don't even have that bank account anymore, thankfully...but this is very concerning. I told them to cease and desist and I knew the law, so she said "okay, good luck in court. We will find you." Wow. I hope they do call back because not only can I sue for harassment, it might stop this scheme.

They are calling my dad and brothers ex. But have never called my number!!
