I received a message that they were from Aetna Silverscript. I called back and gave some info and then they had me on hold for over 10 min. I hung up. A comment on this page says they are legit but if they called me 10 - 15 minutes ago why am I on hold for so long, why do they not know why they called?

This is a legit number from CVS/Aetna/Silverscript Insurance. The reason they cannot discuss specifics before authenticating who they are speaking to is for HIPAA purposes for EVERYONE's own privacy and safety.

This is legitimate. It is CVS Specialty, but they have a very poor way of communicating. They called me from 844-275-8120 and told me they were CVS calling me about a prescription one of my doctors ordered. Then they asked for personal information including my date of birth & they wouldn't tell me which drug or doctor until I gave them the information. I told them I needed to be sure it was really CVS before I gave them requested information. They then gave me the # 866-249-1556 extension 1037646 to call. Since I didn't know if they were giving me a fake # or a real one I made several calls to CVS, starting with my local one. I got some numbers but the offices they gave me were closed. I finally went online and found another CVS # that was operating beyond the normal business hours. I called, explained that I wasn't sure if the call was lefitimate and when I gave them the extension # they transferred me to that number. I will now be getting the drug and they are able to send it to my local CVS for pickup. Now I suspected all along it was legit, since I knew a doctor's office was trying to get me the specific drug, but their telephone manner was so poor it raised suspicions, mainly because they wouldn't tell me which doctor or drug they were calling about.

Left a voice message, called back, became suspicious and hung up, then called the Silverscript number on my card, and was told this was not a legitimate number. Called the number back to ask them what they were up to, told them they were not legitimate, and they hung up. Scammers!
