I received a message saying its from the CRA, and someone will contact me within 24 hours about a file of a specific person that lives in the home

Hi I also got a call from this number but when I pressed 1 no one answered. It is a scam. CRA never sends recorded messages. They will always send you a written notice and ask you to contact them if you have any questions. You can always call CRA to be more aware of such calls.

About 12 p.m. on September 14. They threatened to send the RCMP to our home.

We received a message from someone call Lisa Thomas, she has a strong asian accent, she said she is from CIA, Canada Revenue Agency. She also said if we don't call back at this no., we are going to have legal consequences. We have a good laugh but thought would post it here for people to know.

I received two calls today...one at 9:08 a.m and one at 2:30 p.m, Tax collection agency and please press 9 to speak to a representative. Very important that I do this. Person speaks with an accent.

I rec'd a call. Person says his name is Officer Brad Nelson. He sounded like he had an asian accent. He said his badge # was 509910 and employee # was 0636. He gave me a case file and said I have been audited over 7 years and owe $3,500.00 in back taxes. I asked for an explanation as I said I use the CRA offered Studio Tax program and fill in all the boxes etc... He said he has to stop talking per his attorney and that he will send an RCMP officer to delivery a letter. He then hung up the phone. It was strange that he also referred to the IRS.

Hi, I just got the same call. It's a man with a poor asian (maybe chinese) accent says that CRA has lawsuit againts my father and a representative will comme to my house to check all my account. He also ask for my social security number but I did not give it to him since I also recognize it is as a scam but should I call Revenu Canada or the police, to let them know about this number? It could scare other people.

They called me also on an automated call with a poor Indian accent and said the same as above Mike. Do not be concerned. It is a poor Scam to scare people. Canada Revenue Agency communicates in writing not by automated calls, especially if there will be a real lawsuit.

The man (in poor Indian accents) said they are CRA representatives for a law suit against me regarding my revenue claims between 2008 and 2012.
If I do not cooperate with their investigation, my property will be confiscated.
I soon recognised it is a scam, and replied, "Please go ahead, I‘m well prepared for it." And hung up.
