(844) 336-2700 Robocall received 9 September 2019 - "...to inform you that there's a legal enforcement action filed on your Social Security number for fraudulent activities..."0 Social Security phishing scam

A scare tactic call, poorly worded and executed, attempting to frighten the recipient into believing that criminal activity was detected on their Social Security number and you must call an 800 number to learn more. (calls from November 2018 have identical wording but tell you to call them at 315-791-4448). Of course, calling their number will result in them attempting to elicit personal information for identity theft and other fraudulent purposes.

Here is a transcript of their crude phishing call from a partial recording I made of their call using Google Voice:

[female voice:] "...or your retained criminal attorney of record to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. The number for you to call the SSA back is 844-336-2700. The reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that there's a legal enforcement action filed on your Social Security number for fraudulent activities so before this matter goes to the state court house, and before you get arrested if you need any information or have any question kindly call us back at 844-336-2700. Thank you."
