similar to the others I got the same call from this scammer

why are these ppl not in jail

Just received a call from this number, they left a message saying the following "Heidi from the Federal Government. This needs to be rectified immediately so do return the call as soon as you receive the message. The number is 646-781-8343" This is a scam

Just got off the phone with these clowns.

I called this number as someone else had gotten the call and couldn't speak English. While on the phone I googled the number and this came up. I then asked "Is this actually CRA calling? Because I'm online looking up this number and all I'm seeing is that Ryan Smith from CRA is a scam" to which he proceeded to hang up on me. So yeah, called him out. Definitely a scam. Don't give out any personal information

Just got a call from officer Ryan Smith (HEAVY East Indian accent) from Canada Revenue Agency. Told me there was a fraud on my tax return and to contact him immediately, myself or my lawyer. Had call like this before and I'm getting tired of these parsitic assholes.

Someone just called from that number saying he was Officer (something) Smith and I just hung up. Happened from a different number a few days ago, but again I hung up before they could start their script.

A person claiming to be officer "Riley Smith" of the Canada Revenue Agency left a message yesterday about 1PM Pacific Time claiming there was a tax fraud in my tax papers and to call him or have my lawyer call him immediately at this number. He was threatening and used intimidating language but anytime someone with a strong East Indian accent claims to be a "Riley Smith" you have to be somewhat amused. I guess this is the same batch of fraudsters from India who are constantly calling about alleged problems with your computer that they want money to fix. I researched online and found that there are call centers in India set up with huge rooms full of these con-artists. So at this time of year some of them apparently switch from claiming to be from Microsoft or "Windows" to being from a tax agency. It would be really nice to be able to push a button and have a trap door open into a jail cell for these fraudsters. They have victimized many people. Tried reporting the scam but the number you call just goes through menus and messages and yadda yadda so this site is as good as it gets to fight these crooks.

Just came home from a suicide intervention course for tweens & teens all day to this freaken' vmail wrt. being formally charged with tax evasion and fraud on a Friday p.m. after a 60hr wk week? If having dealt with a deep day of suicide and family svcs was not enough - they had me in tears - told me their employee number - case number and that I should have long ago been in touch with my criminal lawyer as CRA tried to deliver the "papers" on two separate occasions - August .... mid afternoon & Sept ....mid afternoon and actually had left a notice to this effect and take pics of my address at the front door for documentation purposes for court. This was the first time I had heard that I was officially charged with tax evasion & fraud .................. crazy stuff - family all say this is a scam but having CRA to send paperwork to let me see what is what ............... so what is the gain in this scam?? Let me tell you it scared the shit out of me!! Pls pass on to your least expecting and innocent friends - this was a nasty Friday night of tears ..............

Got a message on the answering machine from a Ryan Smith..suspected tax fraud..called the real CRA and they confirmed fraud..says if person calls back, ask for their agent ID# which is 6 digits and 3 letters

I received a call from Officer Riley. This is a scam. Not sure what info Officer Riley would have asked - don;t call the number back and don't give out any info.
