I got a call from the same number today, Hispanic accent, saying it was PECO (Philadelphia Utility for electric and gas) stating that because of a past balance my service would be shut off in an hour unless I called the number listed above. Laughable scam but if you're from Philly you should know this.
Received call today from Ofc. Ray Gibson, Indian dialect. from U.S. Treasury Lien Service, error in my taxes and I was being charged with fraud. Told him this was a scam, I read about these type calls. He told me he was downloading the complaint and police would be coming to arrest me! Call came on my landline, had my name and address.
I received a similar call, unknown name, blocked.
I received a call like that today, too. (A voicemail when I got home.) It was a mechanical voice that identified itself as "Officer Brianna Scott" and that she was calling from the Dept. of US Treasury. They had received a "legal petition notice" of tax fraud against me and that I had better call them or I'd be arrested. Ooooh, I'm shaking in my shoes! Bogus, all of it. First, the IRS does not have arrest powers. And if there were a problem with my taxes, they'd send me a certified letter. And lastly, if there were a problem with my taxes, they'd be the ones to file something against me....they wouldn't be "receiving notice" of it.

RECEIVED A COMPUTER CALL REPORTING THAT THEY WERE NOTIFYING SOMEONE (NO NAME GIVEN) THAT THERE IS A US TREASURY FRAUD CLAIM FILED AND THIS WAS THE FINAL NOTICE.
AND TO CALL IMEDIATELY.
THEY DID NOT PROVIDE A CASE NUMBER OR NAME OF PERSON THAT WAS IN FRAUD. HAS TO BE A SCAM.
