I forgot to mention that one time when I called them back, the guy on the other end got mad because I had" already been told what this was about". I must have yelled at him for 3 minutes. I told him he had scammed thousands of dollars from thousands of people all across the country and if I heard from them again I'd report them to my state's attorney general. Why haven't these people been stopped?! Surely someone, somewhere can find them!

They are based in Jamaica from their accent and acquired their phone numbers from grasshopper.com to appear legitimate.

Thank you! That makes me feel so much better. I was wondering how it was possible for a fake company to get a toll free number.

thank you thank you, thank you! It's truly a relief to myself and other people who were honestly wondering if this was a legit debt or debt collector.

This number has called and left messages several times between yesterday and today on both my cell phone and my home phone. When I spoke with them I got the same BS about a pay day loan from 2011. They mentioned my last four of my SS#, and asked if my address was .....I told her no, then she asked about a previous address, again I said no and she had false information then I hung up. Later my husband called me and stated he had a call from this place asking about me, then I spoke with my mom who lives in a different state and she also received this call. BEWARE! Big ole scammers

Received 2 calls on 11/11/15 - once on cell phone (I hung up) and then they called my home phone about 2 hours later. I answered mainly so I could tell them to stop calling. I was informed they were calling about a payday loan from 2012 (never had a payday loan) and they told me the last 4 of my ss#. I told the guy he should send me any documentation and he recited my home address to me. I waited a bit and called back (woman answered) and asked her the name of the company (Atlantic Group) and I told he I googled their phone number and know they're a scam so stop calling. She said she would not stop calling and would tell her client to escalate this to court. She told me to get a good lawyer and hung up on me. Both people I spoke with were not native English speakers.

This company is a complete scam which will call relentlessly and leave voicemails stating their is a claim against you. They do not leave their business name or any other details besides the claim# and callback#. I decided to call back and a woman with a foreign accent said the company is called Atlantic Group. They claim to be debt collectors from an outstanding payday loan. I check my credit often and know this is a bogus claim so I asked for written documentation. She claimed she cannot provide that (strike one according the federal fair debt collection protections act) I then asked for their address, which she would not provide for "security reasons" (strike 2 according to the law) I told her I knew this was a scam and to stop calling. She told me that she can't stop the calls. Scary part is they have personal information including the last 4 of my ss#. As convincing as they may sound, please do not hand over a single penny or give them any additional information. I read from other complaints that this company may even call family members or your place of employment looking to reach you. I wish I knew how to file a complaint against this criminal organization due to the fact that they have obtained personal information and are harassing people. I doubt this call center is located in the states making it harder to catch these thieves. This is an on going trend lately. I'm grateful for sites like these to inform people of the legitimacy of unknown calls.

They keep calling saying I owe them money for a payday loan. I have never received a payday loan. After I told them this, they still keep calling. Don't answer anything from this number.
