Warning call from Social Security. I didn't listen to entire message. Just hung up.
ROBO call. Says it is a promotional call from CVS giving away 30 Viagra pills for free. Shipping cost of $19.99.
Received a call today about an investigation, and if I didn't return the call, I would be fined $5000. I called, and a recording said to hold while the call was transferred to an officer. It went on to say that my identity and SS# were stolen and involved in criminal activity including money laundering through 7 different bank account. It said my accounts would be "freezed" and my SS# "terminated". Then it disconnected. I called back and a guy with an Indian accent said I had reached the Social Security Office. I told him about the message I received. He asked for my name, but I wouldn't give it to him, and asked for his name and ID #. He then made an unprofessional comment about my voice. When I told him that was not something anyone from the SS Office would say,and asked where his office was located. He said in San Antonio, TX, but the number came up as a New York number. When I refused to give him any info about myself, he said not to give anyone my SS#, and that the call was a prank. I let him know I would be reporting him to the authorities.

So Annie, did you report this? To what authorities? I received the same call. I called it back and listened to the recorded message. When it said it was getting an officer, I hung up. I am certain its fraud. I just wonder if SS will do anything to nab them?
