Goldstein & Associates called my home and cell phone from 319-214-5937 and I called back and started asking questions. Claim they are in Iowa City, IA and have no website they are a small colleciton company for Online Advance LLC say I took a paday loan of $350 now its at $1200 I need to pay or risk going to jail, need to get an attorney, charges been filed, etc.... They had my old address and gave an email address I found out don't exist becuase I called the email company "peoplepc.com" who don't have any information on me or that email they gave. I told them their name coming up with scams online and I started asking who they really are but was told people doing that online to avoid paying debts. Do Not fall into this trap and give your information out to these crooks. The person I talk to was carmen who had accent maybe mexico or something... I will be reporting them.

Just got a call from a John Blake of Georgia Mitchell and Associates. Definite scam call. I've had several calls from a John Blake from other companies. I've reported this number and name to the FTC and the FBI. We'll see how many more calls that I get.

Received an automated call from John Blake. The message stated "charges are going to be filed against me." These scammers are one of the same. Another phone number associated with this is 866-398-8164 and 866-475-3449. Please don't give these scammer any of your money. Let them get a real job.

No matter what name they are using any particular week, any call from 855-235-3436 is a scam call. Apparently they are going by "Mitchell & Associates" this week. Last week they were "Goldstein & Associates". Still the same crooks trying to use legit business names.

UPDATE: These scammers have now changed their name again: They now go by "George Mitchell & Associates", most likely because they are getting threats from real legit "Goldstein & Associates" companies all over the country. We spoke with a "Ms. Banks" who is their operator with a bad attitude LoL. When we questioned why, if/when we called after hours, the greeting still says "Goldstein & Associates", her simple answer was "Oh we got rid of them & took over..." Nice...But you are the same smart-ass receptionist we spoke with 2-3 days ago!!! And what's really funny is that she can't even keep the name of her firm straight: Over the course of one conversation, she called it "Goldstein & Associates", "GM & Associates", "George Michael & Associates", & "George Mitchell & Associates" LMAO!!!! We were able to find out that these scammers are based in Atlanta GA, but like they always claim, "We have offices all over"....Yeah right. Don't fall for this!!! Report them to your local authorities!!!!

Absolute total SCAM. They alternately use the names GM & Associates, Goldstein Associates, Goldstein & Associates.....No matter what name variation they are using this week, it's still the same SCAM. Typical scare tactics: Initial call/message (Usually from an unknown number) says that there are pending charges, litigation being filed, all sorts of scary legalese & financial mumbo-jumbo that must be responded to within 48 hours or else. Once you take the bait & call them back at 855-235-3436, then they really turn up the heat, trying to convince you that money is owed on a phantom loan or mystery debt from several years back, & if you don't resolve it immediately, then they will file charges against you. It's easy to see how consumers still fall for these scams: Once they start hitting you with all the court jargon & legal BS, & mix it in with bits & pieces of personal info, most people are frightened into paying up no questions asked. Of course, once you start asking too many questions of them, then the tables are turned & they are ready to cut the call short.....Don't fall for it!!! Get as much info from them as you can, then report them to local authorities. They are going to destroy the credibility of every legit company with the name of "Goldstein" -- Now that's the real crime. All those companies should sue these scammers!!!
