Recieved a call from "upgrade" and after she said that she was on a recorded line, I replied that I am in a two party state and she needs to stop the audio recording first. She said she would forward me an email or something because there was no way to not record the call. I said :"Then it sounds like you are now committing an illegal act by still continuing to be on this call, doesn't it?"
My throat is super hoarse and I'm having a stressed morning so I kind of liked that moment to be as rude to her as she is by scamming people each day. I didn't like they had my name. Although it seems there are a lot of people who have various old listings of my info.
If you are in a two party state, this is a great way to stop any collection calls. Hell I mean they don't know you are't at the time of the call, so you can just tell them to stop recording. As a former call center supervisor, I don't know any of these places who can turn of the call record for each call. Usually the quality control is always there at least. In collections they cant use anything in the call as proof that the debt is yours without audio recording. And CA takes that recording seriously
Chantel from Upgrade was calling me day after day to verify my information for a loan I did not apply for. Please don’t give them any information and report them.
They called to confirm a loan. By asking for my birthday to confirm. The number was verified and it was a real person. I asked who they were with again, said Upgrade a credit line and loan company. I called back as they seemed legit.was confused thinking someone stole my identity. When I called the number they asked for my social immediately. These are real crooks!
