Just received second call from foreign speaking individual, sounds like from India, saying he was with Geek Squad offering Microsoft support. I'm in Utah. It's a scam.

Same story as all the above. Foreign accent representing
Microsoft and Geek Squad. He said his company is offering free tech support and he would be able to fix my
computer from his location He has called many times per day and when I let the answer machine answer he hangs up.
Do not understand why some federal agency has not shut him down.

Several calls over the last few weeks. Extremely difficult to understand. Said he was from Geek Support working with Microsoft. He could not answer my questions about Mac ID or IP address. I insisted that if he was calling for Microsoft that he should have some basic info about my offending computer. He could not provide any information.

"Harry" called saying that problems had been detected on my computer. He did not identify any official organization or anything to confirm legitimacy of his claims. I had difficulty understanding what he was saying, but did catch that. While he was still talking I did a phone number search and saw that the number had already been reported as a computer scam. I informed him that I was aware of the attempted scam, and hung up.

Said that he was calling because I had reported a problem with my computer. Frankly, I didn't "catch" the name of the firm the man represented. When I stated that I hadn't made any reports of a problem with my PC (and I made the statement with a suspicious tone to my voice), he hung up immediately

They wanted to help me with the errors they said I was having with my computer. The man wanted me to get onto my computer so he could fix it. I'm not having a problem with my computer so I told him I didn't need his help and hung up.

A caller saying he was from Geek Support said they had recieved reports from my home windows computer (I don't have one) indicating that it had viruses and malware. I played along, trying to find out what he wanted, but when I said that I wasn't in front of my computer, and couldn't get there right now, he said goodbye and hung up.

(855) 481-0079 Called a brand new phone number I just received, and claimed they were "geek support" or something like that, saying they were calling about a problem with my computer. Considering I built my computer myself, and never contacted any tech support, I told them to go to hell, and that I would report them.

Called 6 times over the course of two weeks. I didn't answer the first five and no message was left. On the sixth call, a man with a foreign accent wanted to discuss my computer issues including viruses in the boot sector. He said that he was with the Geek Squad. I played along for a few minutes and the he hung up. I reported this to Best Buy since they own the trademark on Geek Squad.
