They called us looking for a person who most likely had our number before us. Phoned the collection agency back and asked for our number to be removed from their database, which they have to do under Ontario provincial laws. Was told that a previous owner of our phone number had an unpaid fine with the City of Toronto. Verified with the City of Toronto that Partners in Credit Inc. is one of the collection companies used by them for unpaid fines as per:

City staff and the collection agency mentioned that they obtained our phone number from one of the credit bureaus (Equifax and/or Transunion) and that it is up to me to remove our number from old and outdated files. I figure it is up to ROBELLUS to do so when they reassign or recycle old phone numbers. We're paying these crooks already way too much, it is the least they can do!

Calls me 4-5 times a day, always leaves a blank voicemail and fills my inbox within 2 days. I miss calls from my employer constantly because of this caller.
