Just got a call from 855 531 3493 saying we have not paid our Dish payment. Paid over 2 weeks ago. Knew it was a scam. The ID on phone said Spam Alert.

11 am Sunday 3 March 2024 call claiming to be Dish saying that I owe a bill that was long paid!

Good scam!
Called me from this number on 12-16-19. I did not recognize call so let it go to VM. Checked message said Dish. Once upon a time my husband had an account with Dish (why call me?) but now has Direct. So looked it up online and could not find much of anything to indicate scam. Figured customer service input a wrong number and call was for someone else.
The next day I received a robo call saying that a technician would show up for my appointment between the hours of X and Y. So, now, I'm thinking someone is going to be annoyed that they weren't there for their install. So I call Dish myself. After several lame tries to help me, and a lengthy time on hold, wanted to put me through to fraud protection. By this time I was annoyed with customer service. Hung up.
TODAY, just got a call from another phone number (888-827-1600) in Spanish from a Hispanic woman. Sadly, don't know much Spanish even though I live near a large Hispanic community. All I could pick out were the words "Hector" and the name of my town, along with the phone number. Blocked that number too.

They keep calling, and I ignore them now and just don't answer, but I am elderly and in poor health, and it's annoying.

Received 3 call from 855-531-3493 March 23,2017 -sounded exactly as the real DISH. Asked persoanl info,
said he was in Mexico

This is a scam from people pretending to be DISH. They called to schedule a technician to come out and install new equipment. Caller ID said it was DISH, person said his name was Matthew & direct line was 719-247-3226. They wanted my four digit security code, or birth date & last four digits of SSN. There would be a charge for the service call and a security deposit on the new equipment. We scheduled an appointment time. Then I emailed DISH & they replied that no one from their company had called me, they did not have any service visit scheduled, & if I got another call to let their fraud prevention team know. I also called DISH & was told they have a nationwide problem with this scam, & if someone shows up pretending to be a service call, do not let them in & call the police. I asked my phone company & they said people can do "caller ID switching" to fake who a call is from. I just now had a call go to my voice mail to confirm the service call & while caller ID showed nothing, the voice mail recorded that the call had come from 855-531-3493.

I do not appreciate getting calls from scanners or telemarketers. This is my personal and professional private phone. Please stop these calls..3 times in less than 2 Hours! !!
