Call went straight to voicemail. Automated message saying that the company was closing down and you needed to call back to claim a refund.
This is definitely a scam. I built my current computer in 2008. I upgrade it from time to time.
Robocall computer generated voice left the following message on voice mail: "THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM YOUR COMPUTER SUPPORT COMPANY REGARDING YOUR COMPUTER REFUND CALL ON 1-855-694-7999 IS OUR COMPANY SHUTTING DOWN THAT IS WHY WE ARE CALLING YOU TO REFUND YOUR MONEY YOU PAID TO US PLEASE CALL ON 1-855-694-7999 TO CLAIM YOUR MONEY FROM WINDOWS AND APPLE SUPPORT THANK YOU" We never pay for computer support, so I immediately suspected this to be some sort of a scam and I did not return the call. These people think that people are either greedy or stupid. Unfortunately they wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't true. The fact is when a company shuts down they do not refund any money. Even if the business goes into bankruptcy they will not call you to offer you a refund. If you are do a refund you will get a notice from the Bankruptcy Court advising you to file a written claim with the court or trustee. Even if you are instructed and file a claim with a Bankruptcy Court the chances of you actually getting paid is slim and if you do get paid it will most likely only be a small percentage of the amount you claim. Don't be stupid or greedy and use your brain. Even if you make an error on a deposit to your bank, if the error is in the banks favor they will never tell you about it. If you think your bank is honest, think again. If you don't believe me put your bank to the test, make a small error in the banks favor on one of your deposits and see what happens. Then make a small error in your favor on one of your deposits and see how fast they correct your error. I guarantee unless you are banking with an honest Credit Union the chances of your bank being honest is about 1%.
