On Aug. 30,2017 I was notified on line that my computer had some corrupted software, to fix it call 855 704-1390. After a long phone/screen-sharing session (and a check sent for $305 "for two years of service on three Mac devices"), my computer seemed to work fine...for a while. When I asked for some form of receipt &/or contract or some description of the services, I was told it would be forthcoming. It never did!
When the problems resumed, I called APPLE SUPPORT who had no record of my "Service Agreement", but helped correct the issues, anyway. They (Apple) are GREAT!
In March, the same guy, David at 'Apple Support' or 'Network Support', called me for some reason. I asked him for the promised info re my purchase. He said he would send it. He did not. Today, 4/9/18, I called David to again request the contract details. He said he'd email it in "a couple of hours". He did not.
BEWARE THIS SCAM and spread the word.

no phone call the warning came up on screen, it took over the computer and was told to call the # on screen, Big Mistake, after 3 hours and a charge of $299, they are now loaded on my computer and they said they were miro soft, many times, we asked if it was a scam? they assured us they weren't So now we have a charge that if not fought in 14 days, will not get anymoney back, and if we do we will only get 50% of the money back! never explained any of this to us! No we can't restart the computer to June 30th before they screwed it up, how do we get our computer back? I am contacting the bank today~

They are asking me $100 to fix my computer!

A phone number my wife initially called after being deceived into believing our computer was a victim of identity theft was 855-704-1390. She obtained the number from an alert that showed up after she had clicked a hyperlink on Facebook regarding a commercial ad about bras. As soon as she clicked the link, a message showed up over the bra advertisement saying our computer had become susceptible to identity theft and advised to call 855-704-1390. That number is associated with an extremely fraudulent "organization" that goes by multiple names and identities. They utilize at least one alternate contact number, which is 855-704-1391. An extension associated with the x1390 number is ext. 303. The negative reports on this number are spotty, but there are many out there on the internet and can be reviewed by simply searching on this number in Google and going through the hits one-by-one to read the testimonies.

This company preyed on my wife's ignorance of IT while I was away from home and actually convinced her to let them remote login to our computer. Once they gained access, they proceeded to uploaded memory, operating system information, personal information, and every piece of information they could steal from my computer. While they were doing so, they attempted to get my wife to agree to a $199 service to secure our computer from future identity theft scenarios.

When I tried to recover to an earlier restore point, I found they had installed a program that locked me out of my computer by putting a rogue registry file that showed prior to the Windows boot menu. It was a login box asking for a password I’d never set. This box came up before the windows logon screen regardless of the fact I had NOT set a preset password. It could not be bypassed by starting up in any option of Safe Mode – not even Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

One name this number is associated with is "Technical Support Today." Their website is http://www.technicalsupporttoday.com/. This organization also goes by other names such as “Tech Squad Today,” “Tech Squad USA,” and “Tech Squad Today Pvt. Ltd.” and has multiple profiles across Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin, etc, and those are just the ones I'm aware of.
