Glad to hear what I suspected, a scammer in disguise of a collection agency. I never answer call numbers I don't know and will add this number to the dead phone list!!!

They couldn't even pronounce my name which is Audrey. They could employ people with better English. It seemed the first person, a woman, on the line was trying to see who I was and then she handed me off to a man. Like others, I don't owe anyone. I plan to block ASAP.

CALLED 3 TIMES WITHIN 5 HOURS.

ALL 3 CALLS WENT TO VOICEMAIL, WITH NO MESSAGE.

THE NUMBER BELONGS TO MIDLAND CREDIT MANAGEMENT (AKA: MCM ), SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA.

GOOGLED THE NUMBER AND FOUND MORE THAN 1000+ COMPLAINTS.

I'M 76, ME AND MY WIFE BOTH RETIRED 16 YEARS AGO.

WE ARE DEBT FREE I.E. NO MORTGAGE, NO CAR NOTES, NO PERSONAL OR BUSINESS LOANS, NO CREDIT CARD DEBT, NO STUDENT LOANS, NO NOTHING.

WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY DEMAND NOTICES OR LETTERS BY MAIL TO OUR HOME OR POST OFFICE BOX.

MY PLAN IS TO DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING UNTIL/UNLESS I RECEIVE A SUMMONS AND COMPLAINT.

THE BURDEN OF PROOF THAT I OWE MONEY TO SOMEONE IS ON MCM.

Do NOT answer the phone when these A$$HOLES call you. BLOCK THE NUMBER IF YOU CAN. If you can't block the number, at least be smart enough to IGNORE the call. The callers are SCAMMERS who are simply fishing for information so they can steal your money. They don't know who you are, they don't know who your relatives are, they are simply dialing phone numbers to find out who is stupid enough to answer a call from this number. When you answer the phone, they know you are stupid and they will try to steal your money. BLOCK THE NUMBER! DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE!
