called several times said someone was hacking into my computer. said they were from micro soft. dont let them into your computer

caller said they were from Microsoft help desk calling about my computer...I told them I did not have a computer he said a lap top told him dont have one of those either...he seemed disappointed.....I have a laptop I lied.....SCAM !!!!!!!

This is the 3rd call I got from this number. In the first call a Man with heavy accent told me there were some virus on my computer. I believe this to be a scam called Phishing (attempting to acquire information such as credit card details) and he would have me logon to his web site. Caller-ID shows TOLL FREE CALLE, 855-800-3144.
I did not answer the other calls.
If you got a call from this number you can file a complaint with the FCC by completing a simple online form at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints. The more that file complaints the better our chances are of stopping them.

Just got a call from this number informing me that they had determined my computer was infected with spyware, malware, etc, and would provide "free" software to clean it.

Same thing going on here. Got a call from an man with heavy indian accent saying my computer was relaying information to his company indicating it had download malicious software/virus and was going to crash at any moment and was trying to direct me to avoid such a situation. First flag, I've had viruses in the past and I've never received a direct call from anyone from IT, so I knew something was wrong right off the bat. He then wanted to confirm if i was running windows xp or vista and I inquired why he had to ask since he supposedly was getting information from my computer...second flag. So i hung up and googled the number and found this forum....third flag. After I hung up, I got another call from 866-289-9940 from same man...last flag....definitely a SCAM! I'm trying to post this on as many sites to help people from becoming victims of these scammers! Word of advise...if seems fishy...it's probably fishy. And when in doubt...always google the number!!!!

Woman called me saying she was from Microsoft and that my computer was being attacked
and she needed me to log onto my computer ao that she could help me to fix it. When I asked how she got my phine number she told me that the computer had sent Microsoft my phone number the minute it was being Hacked.

I received a call from this number, the man named Lee, said I won $500 in food certificates from walmart...since I shop there along with target...and wanted to show there appreciation for being such a loyal customer...I asked where are you from he said, he works for Walmart....and just for a low postage fee of 2.95 on my credit card he would ship the coupons right to my door....I hung up.
