They called my stepmother asking for me. They wouldn't tell her what it was about but did leave a reference number. It seems suspicious to me.

Refused to leave any info other then her name and number

I do have current outstanding student loans. I have dealt with them before and it was legit.

Received a text message saying that they called my cell phone to settle an outstanding debt. Obviously it's a scam. I don't have any debt!

"You have got a voice message from:855-853-7047: Transcript: Haitian This is Mrs. Smith the law requires that we notify you that this is a debt collection company this is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose please call us back today at when calling back the refernce Id is 11107 542. Thank you."

Note the whole message had no perid except the end. And the English is half cooked!

Have received several calls from this number. When I answer the phone, there is nothing but dead air, not even a recording. They have called as late as 8:45 p.m. and even on Sunday.
