(860) 269-3408 Robo call recorded 13 April 2015 ("Sally Mayfield" calling, Federal legislation that can reduce or eliminate student loan debt. Credit Card SCAM)
Caller ID: "Farmington, CT"

Also calls from: (682) 703-8279 (888) 397-1420

A thinly disguised telemarketing call from "Sally Mayfield" to inform everybody of Federal legislation that can reduce or eliminate student loan debt. Of course they'll want to charge a hefty fee to your credit card for a service you can just as easily do yourself.

Their "shotgun" approach to making mass phone calls, hoping to find a few people who owe student loans, and their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethic, doesn't it?

Here is a transcript of the call:

[female voice] "This is Sally Mayfield. According to the William D. Ford Federal Loan Act, U.S. Department of Education Code 2009A, your federal student loans may be eligible for new programs designed to lower or eliminate your student loan payments. You may be eligible to lower your payments by more than 90% and may qualify for loan forgiveness. Please press [1] to lower your student loan payments. If you no longer need help or wish to be removed from our phone list, then please press [2]. Please choose your option now. Press [1] now for loan forgiveness."

Nationwide Alarms system. Telemarketer trying to sell home security system

Name was garbled but the recorded message said it was not a sales call. Recorded message said I was referred by a friend to receive this call for a full-home security system, but that I had to have a home to receive the call and the service (I do not have a home, but I proceeded nevertheless). I asked the person her name and she said it was a national agency and would I be interested in having a home security system installed free of charge? I said the recording indicated I had been referred by a friend and I wanted to know who that friend was. The respondent said she didn't know. I said look it up. The call was disconnected.

Just received an prerecorded call from this stupid telemarketer. Ridiculously annoying, pathetic and reduces your level of productivity having to deal with these stupid companies.

I've been getting multiple daily calls for over a week. At first I answered with no viable option to stop the calls, then ignored the calls but after a day or so and it was getting annoying. So I put the time into searching for an effective way to stop the calls. After ensuring it worked, I'd like to help others; call 866-246-7196, give the caller's and receiving phone numbers. They'll confirm it's on their list and add the receiving phone number to the do not call request list. It takes 1-2 business days to process the request but it did work to stop these multiple daily calls.

Folks, I owe you an apology. With my post of April 21st I'm really trying to trick you. If you're naïve enough to actually call the 866 number I gave in my post (April 21st), you're not submitting a "Do Not Call" request, you're creating an "add me to your spam calls list". YOU'RE actually aiding the SPAMMER which creates an instant "business relationship" allowing the spammers to call you! I sincerely apologize for insulting your intelligence and trying to trick you into receiving more spam calls. I am putting this same message on other "Who Called Me" type web sites under different names. God, please forgive my wicked soul!

they call me 3 or 4 times every day, the last couple of times they used this number which is a new one they always used to call from 682-703-8279, I am in Canada and have reported it but it seems, to no avail, they say they can lower your interest rates on your student loans or other loans but they never talk to you they hangup so what are they trying to do.I never had a student loan in mt life and currently have no debt anywhere.
