Lowering credit card interest rate

Apparently, the person who called is ***NOT*** the individual who actually has that phone number. Somehow, scam artists lifted his cell phone. When I answered my land line, I was greeted by an automated message telling me how I can reduce the rate on my credit cards (which I do NOT have) down to 1.8% ... press "1" to take advantage of this offer. I pressed "1" and the woman said "I understand you're interested in taking advantage of our offer to reduce your credit card interest rates." I said "No, actually I'm interested in having you place me on your do not call list." The flippin' HARPY hung up on me. I called the number back in order to bitch but - the line was automatically directed to voice mail with a MAN stating: "Hi, if this number keeps calling your house like it does mine - it's nothing but a hoax - so if it calls, somebody needs to notify the police and they need to be fined some money". Directly after that - an automated message states: "This subscriber cannot receive messages at this time." Apparently, scam artists had tapped into that poor guys wireless account. Judging from the message left after his, he had already deactivated his cell number and obtained a new one. Seriously, what legit loan or major credit card company do you know of that uses a CELL PHONE to pan their offers?!

I do believe I will be taking the gentleman's advice ... I will be reporting the scumbags

Anonymous ... you're speaking the wrong "telemarketing" language. You have to tell them to *PUT ME ON YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST*. Not sure how much good that will do though as they hung up on me.
