horrendous collection practices/100's of FTC complaints for unlawful collection practices

when I answered a recorded message said to wait because it was a very important call... I hung up because I thought if it was do important then someone should be there when I answered.

I then tried to call the number back to see who answered... what the company name was, it said that the number was not a valid number and for me to check that I had dialed correctly.

I got one of these calls today and they wouldn't make payment arrangements with me. I asked for their mailing addressI do have old bills and they knew my social number but this is a pretty new number. Didn't think much about it wanna pay off bills but they told me that my payment wouldn't work and told me that if i didn't pay i the full amount that they would take further legal action. They were going to mark that i refuse to pay. I am a pissed off at the way they talk to me but I would rather pay the company i owe money to directly or be garnished then to give these assholes any money. After reading all this i have no idea if they are real or not. But i am not giving any information to them. Then they at the end of it he hung up on me while i was trying to make payment arrangements.
