They call multiple times a day/

These unscrupulous collectors will actually scramble their caller ID's so it looks like a local call coming from your area code. This is a violation of the Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009. Punishable by a $10K fine. Call them out on it if this happens and document everything.

And, I agree with what is stated above - DON'T answer your phone even if you don't know the number, EVEN if it comes from a "supposedly" local area code!!

They're a student loan hound. Don't pay? Expect a call from these d-bags. They're even bigger d-bags than DarrinWC is. I hope he sees this. Fat jerk.

Today was not the first time they've called my cell, but I only answer calls if I know the number that's calling. I got on the no-call list years ago, but didn't bother to renew when I realized what a joke it was. No doubt the registered numbers go on a list that's sold, so then you get many additional calls from new scumbags, as a reward for being gullible.

They obtain even unlisted numbers. ..
