UNKNOWN CALLER left a msg for me to call this number or face a "summary judgement" against ME. This call is apparently linked to other calls from 866-458-7685 (robocall Citi). I do not have a Home Depot/ Citi card, but my 95 yr old father does. He started getting the same calls the week before me. The fuss is over a $6.80 bill, there are no other charges on the card (its now been paid). I've seen the bill & it was a month late. Once again, this is not MY card, nor is my name on the account. What sort of "credit card" is this. He cut it up. A whole lot of intimidation over a $6.80 bill.
We got an automated call that started the recorded message before I picked up, so I had no idea who it was. It simply gave the number to call back and the times to call them back at. Upon calling back, I still didn't know who I was calling until I finally got a person after mashing buttons and saying Operator to the voice-system when it asked for my account number.
The woman (didn't give her name) on the other end finally told me it was for Home Depot, but she couldn't tell me anything more until she spoke with the person responsible for the account (assuming I wasn't the right one). I turned her over to my boss and she informed us that she doesn't care that THEY lost the check in question, and they do NOT have to process multiple checks in the same envelope (3 checks to pay the same account, 2/3 were posted the third is "lost"), and they can force your account to be late and charge more fees. The woman didn't care that the investigations department was looking into the issue, she wanted the account settled immediately otherwise she would add more fees and interest.
She was incredibly rude.
